Institute for Development Studies & Practices Pakistan (IDSP Pakistan) is an academic and research institute, working in Pakistan since 1999. IDSP is striving to create alternative ***ces of learning, education and development on national level. Through its development studies courses, IDSP has developed more than 500 young learners countrywide. Similarly Institute has initiated interventions for seeking alternative models of education, and development1. IDSP’s Core development program (On going)
Is a national human resource development institute and has more then 400 learners from its long term development courses across the country working in civil society organizations, government departments and academic institutions.

2. Intern’s Scheme [Primary Education Program, NWFP]
IDSP has been a partner with DFID in NWFP’s Primary Education Program (Intern Scheme) which aimed at developing female human resource in the education sector.

3. Tawana Pakistan
Tawana Pakistan is Government of Pakistan’s initiative. The program was in all provincial and federal areas of Pakistan. The program aim’s to reach to 600,000 primary school age girls. The major objectives of the program were:
?Increasing Girls enrollment
?Reducing the malnutrition in girl child (focus of stunting wasting and anemia)
?Community awareness on nutrition
Tawana in many ways is an innovative program; it is an innovation of Pakistan with respect to the food distribution programs. The partners group is extensive and diverse, from Ministry of Women Development, Government of Pakistan, Agha Khan University, Pakistan Baitulamal, Provincial Education Department, local governments and IDSP Pakistan.

4. Community Mobilization Process in Afghan Refugees Villages
The program is placed in Afghan Refugee Camps. The program is aiming at enhancing women participation in the education process, decreasing the drop out in schools and activation of Parent Teachers Association in the camps.
